What Guests Are Saying
Cougar Rock Campground offers spacious, clean sites with good privacy and easy access to Mount Rainier trails, making it an ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts. The bathrooms are well-maintained, although some reviewers noted a lack of warm water and soap. Challenges include difficult campsite reservations and occasional issues with nearby campers, but the overall experience is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

The Campground is very clean, The Park Rangers that I have met when entering the Park are always very nice and professional and always give me helpful information.

Site E14 was one of the best in the E loop! It is tucked away on its own, away from adjacent sites, and has a 2-tiered set-up. Super nice! (The tent pad is on the smaller side, so just double check if you happen to have a big tent.) I would also strongly recommend E6 and E8, both of which descend via steps to a very private spot in the "valley" within the loop. If you don't want to be close to neighbors, avoid 16, 17, 18, and 19. The whole loop is generator-free, though, which is awesome!

Stayed at the camp site during first-come first-serve season and there are plently of empty site everyday. The check in is very easy as long as you arrive early in the morning to pay and select the site in their office. I wish they would update the fire ban on their official site as we end up staying wet with no campfires.

Nice bathroom, coinvent location, unfortunately about 10 years ago there was a wild fire which seems to have cleared out a lot of the small trees and vegetation. This leaves the sites a bit open/exposed, hopefully it fills in a bit in the next few years.

This was a nice spot. Good flat ground for car camping. Bathrooms were pretty clean. Saw lots of wild life

A very lovely place to be. We had a stay at the end of the season. We had a pull through campside with a 30 feet RV. It is better if you get help by a passender by entering or leaving the site. We enjoyed the silence an pure nature. A good stay if you visit the NP. Reservation ist necessary.
The only negative: No mobile network and no wifi
The Ranger at the reception was very friendly an helpful.
