What Guests Are Saying
Cougar Rock Campground offers spacious, clean sites with good privacy and easy access to Mount Rainier trails, making it an ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts. The bathrooms are well-maintained, although some reviewers noted a lack of warm water and soap. Challenges include difficult campsite reservations and occasional issues with nearby campers, but the overall experience is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Nice campground. We were in a spacious quiet site at the end of Loop C.

The campground wasn’t as beautiful as other campgrounds we visited this year. The campsites were very close to each other and some people were making noise. But the restrooms weren’t far away and were clean.

I felt very fortunate to get a campsite, especially because I had to wait until after 3 pm to get into the park because my timed entry was for the wrong corridor. The campground was quiet and I could ride my bike up to the Paradise visitors center from my site.

We spent only a couple of nights, but really enjoyed our stay. It had everything we needed - flat spot for the tent, bbq racks, table and benches, bathroom. Campsite nestled between trees, temperature felt a little higher over the night than the rest of the park.

The amazing location 20 mins from Paradise is the main reason to go here. Sadly, the forest seemed rather unhealthy with a lot of dead trees around the campsites. There's also no individual bear boxes. Bathrooms were fairly clean though.

It was very quiet with only a little campfire smoke. (Smoke is irritating, so less of it is better.) It was easy to get there, even though we had to enter the Paradise corridor.

When we visited Cougar Rock the dump station was closed and has been for while and there was no fresh water to fill our water tanks. Spots are ok for Vans and smaller units. Big Units have little to no chance of fitting in most of the spaces.
