Availability Alert system works well. Happy to get a spot on short notice. Spaces are a bit tight. ‘Campground Full’ sign frustrating when there were sites empty the whole time we were there.

Nice campground. It would be great to have the firewood vendor on site like it was years ago.

This is always a family favorite spot. Good central location, sites are well maintained and bathrooms were clean. We went mid-week so it wasn’t too busy. Campers were all very nice as well as the camp hosts.

Campsite E19. Right by the road, lots of car noise all day. This campsite is easily 1/3 the size of other sites in the campground. It is a vehicle only site, and when you pull in, your car is 3 feet from the firepit, not ideal. We had room for a 10x10 pop up behind the van, also dangerously close to the fire pit due to the small campsite. And uneven behind the parking area. Trees limit the use of any other space on the site. Claims 2 parking spaces, there is no way you can fit 2 vehicles there.
If you book at cougar rock, do not choose site E19.

Great location with a helpful staff. Site D008 had a great pull through space for an RV if you have it and can comfortably also fit a tent

Dirtiest bathroom I've ever seen. Strong smell of ammonia. No dump station, no water hose connection to fill up my RV water tank, no electric connection, no showers. Unfortunately, this is typical of US national parks. I just came from Canada where they're much better. They clean bathrooms daily, have hose connections, most have dump stations, showers and electric connections. The people at the help station were great.

Another party on our campsite when we arrived at 7pm, and they initially refused to leave. They had 3 excuses for why they should be there:
1. "They" told us this was our spot for 2nd night.
2. We heard there was a glitch in computer system. Lots of people are double-booked.
3. Our reservation shows we have tonight too. I asked to see their booking, they declined.
Major hassle, and the 2 staff that checked me in were nowhere to be found at 7pm. Major hassle that got became contentious. My initials were on the campsite post slip, so they finally left after about an hour. Kind of ruined our hiking/camping plans for that evening.

Beautiful site, plenty of privacy in the seating area in the woods, super walkable to a beautiful viewpoint and multiple waterfalls hikes.

We were very glad to get a spot since they fill up quickly. We reserved a spot in the morning for that evening
