What Guests Are Saying
Battle Run Campground is highly praised for its beautiful location near Summersville Lake, well-maintained facilities, and friendly atmosphere. Many visitors enjoy the clean bathhouses, spacious sites, and abundance of activities available, making it a great family-friendly destination. However, some guests noted issues with site leveling, the need for upgraded bathhouses, and a lack of water hookups, suggesting room for improvement in certain areas.

This is absolutely my happy place. The lake is fantastic. The water is cool enough to give relief on scorching days (and we had some of those), but not bitter cold like some mountain lakes. The bathhouse was kept very clean, as was the laundry. There are stunning views in every direction. Next visit we plan to rent kayaks and do more exploring. We only ate out one time, at Maloney's, and the burgers were terrific - highly recommend.

The campground was beautiful and well maintained. Fantastic views of the lake from every site. Bathhouses were cleaned several times a day. Just wish they had water hook ups at the campsite. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back!

The reservation system is easy to navigate, the limited park staff were helpful, the restroom were cleaned by the state staff and were clean and well stocked.

I didn't get into the campsite until almost 6 pm. The person working knew I was waiting for the spot to open didn't inform me that it had opened while they knew I was waiting there at the check in.
