What Guests Are Saying
Dead Swede campground is highly praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and attentive camp hosts, making it one of the best camping experiences for many visitors. The beautiful location by the South Tongue River and opportunities for wildlife viewing, including moose and deer, enhance its appeal. However, some guests noted issues with site privacy and noise from nearby ATV traffic, which may detract from the experience for some campers.

Great location, nice stream flowing along the site. Super clean sites and facilities. When leaving I had a hitch issue and the host was great help.
Thanks!

Lovely spot, site was difficult to back in to. Didn't see any bear, elk or moose. Big thunderstorm overnight. Route 14A to get here was steep, winding and narrow

This campground is well designed and is in a pretty setting along the South Tongue River. There was plenty of room between the sites to provide solitude. Our reservation was for a site in Loop B but there was no signage at the entrance indicating which road was Loop B. Unfortunately, our site was near the main road and the constant buzz and dust from ATVs distracted from our camping experience. Being a first time visitor to the Bighorn NF, we had no idea how popular motorized recreation was in the surrounding area. We walked along an ATV trail that followed the the South Tongue because there were no non motorized trails in the vicinity.
