This was the first time we stayed at a rec.gov and this was a perfect spot. The grounds were kept nice and clean, the camp hosts were friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back to this camp ground next year! We did like the fact that you are unplugged from all WiFi and internet noise for the time we stayed.

Beautiful campground, clean, nice large spots, clean facilities. This is one of our favorite campgrounds. The only slight negative point is no cell service in the campground. You can get service if need be just done the road less than a mile.

We were not able to launch our boat because of low water levels and poor maintainence. Fish cleaning station was also closed very inconvenient. Campground was the only thing well run

The staff was absolutely awesome. Reserving a spot at Big Lake is very difficult. However when we got to the site the staff helped us extend our stay from two nights to seven nights. They are friendly, helpful and super courteous.

Great stay near Big Lake. The campgrounds were very clean and the camp hosts were friendly and helpful. My site was next to the bathrooms but there were enough trees between the site and the building that I didn't see or hear any of the foot traffic to/from the facilities (which were also very clean and fresh). The only drawback was the proximity of the site to the loop road so traffic felt right in my campsite, but this is a personal preference and others might not mind camping so close to the road. The campground had excellent signage, trash disposal was easy to find, and dump stations were available. Definitely a quiet and peaceful place to stay! BTW there is no cell service near Big Lake but Starlink was working well.

Top to bottom one of the best places to visit. The camphost are all outstanding people and by the time you leave it's like you're saying goodbye to really close friends or family. They are quick checking you in and they never bother anyone unless you need help with something. The facilities are clean and having the restrooms and showers available makes it really nice. We love the fact that if the spot is ready no matter what time we arrive, they check us in and we're good to go.

The campground was beautiful and well-maintained. Our site was just a short walk to the lake. Full hookups were a major bonus. I'm pretty sure I could live there, if they'd let me. The campground staff were lovely and helpful.

Typically, I rate this CG 5 stars. This year I could only give 4 stars because of the ridiculous amount of road potholes throughout Apache Trout CG. A small pothole here or there is one thing, the amount and condition of some of the potholes is a huge problem. I know, I know, Arizona got a lot of rain this year, no excuse for failing to properly care for the CG road.
