What Guests Are Saying
Convict Lake Campground offers stunning views, well-maintained facilities, and friendly hosts, making it a popular destination for campers. Visitors appreciate the clean restrooms, proximity to the lake, and various activities like fishing and hiking. However, some sites are small and exposed, with limited shade, and there have been occasional reports of noise and theft. Overall, many guests express a strong desire to return.

The campground itself is OK. The restroom is very clean. No trees around the campsite. So it was very hot when we were there.

Been coming here for over 20 years. This week only had 1 host, usually 3, and Dennis could not keep up with the bathroom clean up but he did his best. 1 host for 88 camp sites, that should never happen. E bikes everywhere, swimming in the creek, I’m gonna have to find a new fishing hole

The campsite was very close to the lake. The view of the mountain was spectacular. Restroom and water source was also close by. The added surprise was seeing so many Mule Deer up close. One crossed our path and stopped and stared at us for more than a few minutes before moving on. One was eating the leaves on a tree and continued doing so even with us watching. The store was a short walk also. I wish I could have fished on the Marina Pier but found many places to do so. Being able to have a campfire in the evenings was a plus. The space was large enough to set up both our tent and al arge canopy for shade. The picnic table was a plus. The storage area for food was extra large. The paved driveway was good. At night, it was very peaceful. When we left, we were able to visit Mamouth Village/ski lifts/Mary Lake/Twin Lakes/etc on our way back. The price for the 3 nights was reasonable. The rentals for kayaks was a little high for the limited time frame. We plan on coming back again.

Beautiful surroundings. Nice camp site. Site #80 was big enough to accommodate 22' rig with ~20' inflatable boat.

This was about our 20th year camping in Convict with our whole family. As always camp host Dennis was amazing. The campground was well run and clean. Can't wait to go back next summer.

In no way should this campground be dog friendly unfortunately. Every site was fully surrounded by unbelievable thorns, spurs, and tons of foxtails. My dogs couldn’t go anywhere to go to the bathroom and are super potty trained so it was a struggle for them. People feed the elk so they run in groups through the sites around dinner time (very cool for kids but not dogs because they try to walk up to the dogs). We came for the lake and at every single hour with sunlight, the 15 parking spots were too full and we never got to touch water. We even bought a second kayak for this trip. It was so bad we left early. I’m heartbroken.
