The entire campground sits in a beautiful forest on the bank of the sugar pine reservoir. Most, if not all, of the sites are in the shade, and trails run throughout that lead to the lake. This September, Even with the lake level being low, we were able to take the paddle board out and swim in the cool lake water. This is a great campground.

The campground was so nice, well maintained and clean. The wasps were a bit of a rough feat to deal with. Hack to dealing with them, we cooked down by the water while the kids played. It was wonderful

We camped at Giant Gap for 2 nights. The drive in was beautiful, but unfortunately the reservoir was really low this year, still we had fun splashing around near the boat dock. The bathrooms were noticeably not stinky inside, but the outside was another matter. Our only complaint was the amount of flies and wasps, especially bad when trying to cook. Our spot had quite a few different places to put up a tent and was fairly private. The orange dust on the ground gets everywhere.

Site#23 has plenty of space for a family of 4. Nice view of the reservoir and a easy access to the water. Bbq grill , fire pit and Huge bear proof metal storage . Area has a nice 3-4 miles hike loop around the reservoir. Beautiful campground overall.

Large campsite near Sugar Pine Reservoir. Spring, early summer may be the best time. I went in August 2021 and the water was very low, the skies were smoky and the rowdy Hispanic group across the street made noise until 2:30am. I stayed there about 10 years ago. There were clear skies and water but a rowdy crowd partied into the early hours. The campground could definitely benefit from strict enforcement of the 10p-6a quiet time.

Water was low due to the drought. Still had a great time. Kids were in the water all day. Only complaints were the noise at night from across the lake. Gun shots and dirt bikes at 3:30 AM. Neighbors at site 27 & 28 partied till 1:30 AM their first night. Camp Host talked to them. All was cool after that.

We had site #5. Very nice site. Bathrooms were clean. Reservoir was low but that’s no surprise. Will be coming back.

Great campground, very clean and well laid out. There was a mix up with our reservations and our site was taken (our confirmed reservation wasn't on the list), but the CG host was very nice and helped us find something.
