What Guests Are Saying
Dimond O Campground offers a pleasant stay with well-maintained sites, friendly hosts, and clean bathrooms. Visitors appreciate the beautiful surroundings, privacy between campsites, and proximity to Yosemite National Park. However, some drawbacks include limited water availability, noise from the camp host's generator, and the rustic facilities.

The campsites and bathrooms were very clean, and the camp hosts were very helpful. There are bear-safe boxes to store your food at each site. Our favorite part of the site was that each site has a level-ground platform that you can put your tent on.

Vault toilets were clean and fully stocked with TP, site manager was efficient & friendly. Large dumpsters available near the toilets as well as a water spigot for washing hands or filling buckets for site use. The sites are well spaced apart from other campers so you almost feel like you're alone in the wilderness. The walk to the stream is very pretty and we saw a few fish in it. Unfortunately couldn't use the firepits but they have a grill on top which is useful and even what looks like a fish hook for smoking fresh caught fish. Campsites came with a large picnic table, a tent pad, the firepit, and a large bear locker. Didn't see any bears, saw plenty of cows though. No cell service, which I guess would be sketchy in emergency situations but it was nice to unplug entirely for a night.
Be careful driving along the road to the campground as there is private property with farm vehicles and free roaming cattle.

Nice location. I think nearly all of the campsites are decent. If you head to Hetch Hetchy, be aware that the road closes at a certain time each day (it was 5pm in the fall).

Campground was clean and quiet. Bathroom was cleaner than average. It was a bit farther back to Yosemite than I was expecting.

I camped here for a night to break up a drive but found it was actually a campground I'd go to as a destination. Very peaceful and site 19 had a great view of the stars. Note it's a good 15-20 minutes from 120 and watch out for the grazing cows along the way.

Dimond O is a well maintained and is a beautiful campsite. It’s only flaw is that there is no running water in the bathroom and the inability to wash dirty dishes or dump them anywhere. I think it’s good for a short stay but nothing beyond that.

Solid campsite with clean bathroom facilities. Great as a staging ground to go into hetch hetchy (as that road is only open 8am-5pm) early next morning.

I am very disappointed in the reservation system. when I registered for this camp with the exception of my camp all but about 3 were full for my dates and these three were first come first serve. So i ordered my one camp available thinking it would be really full campground. It was only about half full every night. all the camps around me was suppose to be full every night but only about 1 in 3 had a camper in it. I don't mind that the camp was only half full very quite, but very irritating for the angst I had getting a camp when most of the camp bought registration and never showed.
This registration system needs to be adjusted to penalize NO SHOWS. In general i don't like pre-registration but you have to in a place like California but then again it is the system that allows people to pay for camps and no show which affects others actually being there. the same was true in Yosemite where ALL Camps were full everyday but as I would drive through several they were only about 3/4 full at best.
