Dimond O Campground offers a pleasant stay with well-maintained sites, friendly hosts, and clean bathrooms. Stayed in site 24/25 along the creek loop. Overall camp was quiet in evenings except the one night someone let their carhorn blare for 10 minutes in the middle of the night. Site was right next to the trail down to the creek which was a short couple minute walk. It was nice hearing the sound of the water running at night. There was another trail down to the creek by the bathrooms that was a little longer but I liked the creek over there better.
The site was a double site so it had room for 2 large tents (one on each side). and big parking area. Our tent was 16' x 10' and fit. It was all very flat. There were 2 bear boxes which easily could have fit multiple coolers in each. The bathrooms were cleaned each day so were as clean as you could expect for no flush toilets. No sinks. Just a couple water spigots spaced throughout camp.
No issues with bears but heard there haven't been issues in the area since the rim fire. We were allowed fires in the firepit. Fire wood could be purchased from either of 2 camp managers on site for $8. Only a few wasps around when we started cooking but very manageable compared to another campsite I visited recently. Didnt feel the need to setup the mesh tent we brought.
Located 15 minutes from Big Oak Yosemite gate or about an hour to Yosemite Valley. Closer to Hetch Hetchy gate but didn't head that way ourselves.

We enjoyed our campsite at Dimond O campground. I especially liked how they had a designated area for our tent. It was rock free and flat. In addition, the manager/camp supervisor was extremely helpful. He introduced himself when we arrived and offered his assistance. Our car's battery needed a jump and he assisted us.
My only suggestion would be to add a sink to the restrooms. There wasn't a spot to wash our hands after using the restrooms.

Super clean campground and bathrooms. Tent sites are level pads filled with packed dirt, perfect for setting up a tent. Campfire rings have a grate and racks if used for cooking. Campground hosts friendly and available and visible during our visit. 5/5 would camp here again.

This Campground is perfectly located for access to Yosemite National Park. It is 7 miles from the entrance to the Park. There were very few sites that can handle a larger RV, but the ones that do are located along a gentle, beautiful stream. We sat our chairs in the stream and dangled our toes in the refreshing water, looking for trout. The Campground Managers did a fantastic job of keeping the restrooms clean. They were spotless every time we utilized them. Also, if you have a generator, they have very liberal generator hours, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The only complaint is that the road from Highway 120 to the Campground really needs some attention. It was very bumpy and some holes. We plan to return next year and hope to secure a spot back at Diomond O. It's literally, a diamond the in rough!!!!!

Excellent campground, very organized, with clean outhouses, water available for cooking and other uses. There's a creek very close to the campground, 3 minutes walking, great for little kids, bigger kids and adults. Wonderful place, will definitely camp again in the future!
