What Guests Are Saying

Dimond O Campground offers a pleasant stay with well-maintained sites, friendly hosts, and clean bathrooms. Visitors appreciate the beautiful surroundings, privacy between campsites, and proximity to Yosemite National Park. However, some drawbacks include limited water availability, noise from the camp host's generator, and the rustic facilities.

Booked one night before a backpacking trip in the Hetch Hetchy area of Yosemite. Arrived late at night (like midnight), set up my tent, and left at 8:30am the next morning. Campsite had a nice raised sand/dirt pad for the tents but be careful not to fall off the pad if you set up multiple tents on that raised pad. Bear locked was great and the bathrooms were fine. Didn't have a chance to use the fire ring or explore the nearby river. I'd be happy to stay at the Dimond O again!

The atmosphere is very quiet, except when you're camped near the hosts which means you have to listen to their loud generator from morning til 930pm..

We have stayed at this beautiful campground since our, now adult children, were little. It had been a few years since we were back but we love DimondO and returned for my wife's 60th birthday with our kids traveling with their spouses. The area is wonderful and well placed for day trip adventures. In the past there was a regional camp supervisor as well as camp host at DimondO but this year only a host, who in my opinion need some supervision. As we rolled in at 1:30 pm and were exploring what campsites might be available (we didn't get our first choice in online booking) we approached the host as he was finishing cleaning a site. He was rude and commented that it was still "first thing in the morning" and we were obviously bothering him. Later that evening, selling fire wood, his deminer was completely different, jovial and slurring his words, apparently he just needed some "medication" to turn his day around. I will return to DimondO but hope that the folks who choose camp hosts do a better screening job next time.

This campground is absolutely great. Very clean and well maintained. There is a trail to the nearby river that makes for a lovely walk. I very highly recommend this as an alternative to campgrounds closer to Yosemite that might be full.

One of the most beautiful campgrounds we stayed at over the past month. Right in the middle of the forest, close to the river. No signs of any traffic nearby, and the campsites are spacious and clean. About an hour drive to Yosemite valley. Would definitely stay here again.

Dimond O is a 20-minute drive away from the Hetch Hetchy Valley, one of the less-transited entrances to Yosemite National Park and trailhead to many beautiful hikes around the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. The campsite is nice, well-maintained, and has a stream running near it, which makes it even more pleasant. It gets cold at night so pack warm!

A very clean and organised site. It was quiet and remote, but very close to the entrance to Yosemite Park to make it an easy journey. Facilities were basic but clean and usable. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We loved this campsite.
