Summit Lake North is praised for its great location within Lassen National Park, offering scenic views, easy access to hiking trails, and a beautiful lake for swimming. The campground is well-maintained with clean bathrooms and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite for visitors seeking a relaxing camping experience. However, some sites are closely spaced and lack shade, which may affect privacy and comfort.

Although the camp sites are very small our overall experience was quite good. The campground was clean, the lake was beautiful with plenty of opportunity for swimming and canoeing, and the bathrooms were well maintained. We were very happy to see such diversity in the camping population around us. We ran into a lively Ranger who gave us a short synopsis of her talk on geology and shared some insights on the Park. Very friendly! Lassen was devastated during the Dixie Fire last year, it was good to see that the campground was barely touched and many of the Park's sites are still quite stunning. Well worth a trip!

Campground is centrally located in the Park. It is nice being next to the lake. Although the lake is small, we did some kayaking there. Some of the campground spaces are close to each other but that meant we made friends easier

This is one of the best campground stays we’ve ever had! My husband and I stayed in B22. The campsite was very spacious and had all of the needed amenities including a fire ring, a nice picnic table, bear box and a pull through parking space. The bathrooms were nice with flush toilets and an area outside for washing dishes. The fresh water spouts were only a short walk from the campsite and there were bins for trash and recycling and they accepted all recycling (not just bottles and cans). The stars are beautiful at night and the lake is absolutely perfect. Our campsite didn’t have much shade during the day but the lake did so we were able to bring our chairs down, get some shade, read, and swim in the lake. Everyone was friendly and respectful. It was the most quiet campground we’ve stayed in as well. Highly recommend! We will be back.

The campsite was great, facilities were great and clean. Summit lake north campground is beautiful, nice and quiet in the mornings.
The only thing was that there was some dry grass around the fire pit and I was scared it might catch fire. Might need to be cleaned up or cut.
