What Guests Are Saying
Pinnacles Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with a variety of wildlife, well-maintained facilities, and easy access to numerous hiking trails, including the highly recommended Bear Gulch Cave trail. Campers appreciate the clean restrooms, hot showers, and generally private sites, making for a relaxing experience. While some noted issues with limited facilities and the presence of raccoons, overall, guests found the campground enjoyable and a great base for exploring the stunning landscapes of Pinnacles National Park.

Site was great, campsite was great. Try to get a campsite that's shaded.

Luxurious experience compared to the primitive sites we normally visit. Pool and shop close by. Very limited shade on the RV sites.

I’ve been a Pinnacles regular for a decade. Unfortunately, the raccoon problem has gotten so far out of hand in the past 2-3 years that camping here is no longer fun. Raccoons will happily steal food right off your plate if you turn your back for just a few seconds after dark. They are incredibly aggressive and have (recently) learned that growling at campers is an effective technique to scare them away from their food/ingredients. Cooking at camp is one of my favorite activities, but it’s no longer enjoyable at Pinnacles.
AFAIK, pinnacles has turned a mostly blind eye to the problem. I won’t be returning until I hear otherwise.

It is sad that there is so little staff there. I saw a ranger once on our third day. The visitor center was closed. DOGE ruining the good life in America.

Campground was well maintained and the bathrooms were great. Campsites were larger than many I have stayed in. The pool was a great option for the hot day. Camp store had all the essentials (including a decent ice cream selection). Stars were great since the park is so dark at night.
The kids did the junior ranger program which they enjoyed but unfortunately due to the budget cuts to the national park system the rangers just handed them the badges without even talking to the kids as we were exiting the park.

Easy self check-in, clean tent cabin, well-maintained bathroom, quick walk to campground store in case we needed anything. The night sky is really beautiful, I've never seen so many stars in my life. It gets very cold at night even in the summer, so bring the right supplies to keep warm when sleeping. There are lots of deer and raccoons on the campgrounds which is both amusing and cool.
