Pinnacles Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with a variety of wildlife, well-maintained facilities, and easy access to numerous hiking trails, including the highly recommended Bear Gulch Cave trail. Campers appreciate the clean restrooms, hot showers, and generally private sites, making for a relaxing experience. While some noted issues with limited facilities and the presence of raccoons, overall, guests found the campground enjoyable and a great base for exploring the stunning landscapes of Pinnacles National Park.

The tent cabin was convenient...not having to pack tent, set it it and take it down. But way too pricy for what it is. The pool and showers at the campground store were nice amenities especially after a long hike in the heat.

Our family, which included elementary aged grandkids, had a blast. We all rode our bikes in the campground, and on the road to the nature center. We did some fun hikes and appreciated how careful all the other campers were driving in the campground with so many children on bikes. The pool was fun as well. Our only annoyance was the raccoon who continually tried to sneak onto our table, even with us just a few feet from the table. He was extremely bold and didn't scare away easily. We were careful to keep our food stored properly, but setting up for meals did prove a bit of a challenge.

Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Nice little bonus having a pool at the campground. We enjoyed our stay.

This campground would be more accurately described as a camp lot, since most if it is dirt and few spots have trees. Site 100 D had shade in the evening, but not in the morning. The temperature in June was quite hot by 11 am. The electricity worked well, but it was unclear to us which water spigots in the campground were ok to drink from. We were told a spigot 50 yards from our site was ok to use, but given no instructions on the one at our site. The showers and bathrooms were working and appreciated, but were far from the campsite.

Set in beautiful countryside with wildlife galore and no shortage of adjacent or nearby hiking trails. Free showers and generous tent lots as well

The campground is amazing. There is a huge difference between campsites. Some are right up on the road with ZERO privacy and others are totally private. The group sites tend to attract people who like to play music while the sites back on the loops tend to be super quiet. The one thing I hate about this campground is now low the fire pits are., They are only about 6 inches high which makes them a massive tripping danger for young kids and we had an injury due to a child tripping on them.

Pinnacles – Never again!
I was there for 5 nights, June 22 - 27. The park is beautiful with lots of wildlife. But the staff is horrible. The rangers are rude, lazy and offensive – especially the one that “has been there for 38 years.” The camp store woman was equally lazy and unhelpful. Maybe this bitterness and unresponsiveness comes with age…?
The only brights spots were the younger people. The campground receptionist/host was very nice and responsive to my needs to find a new site. Also really enjoyed the volunteer at the Bear Gulch Nature Center. She was eager to make everyone’s visit worthwhile, offering tips about hikes and wildlife. Although I didn’t really have a lot of interaction with the ranger at the entrance booth, he always smiled and waved when I passed by to visit other areas.
