Lake had Algae Blooms so we couldn’t swim or let our dog get in the water according to the rangers. It was over 110 degrees for 3 days. We tried to fish early in the morning but it was so hot the fish were too far out in the colder water and without a boat it was pointless. We left the campsite 2 days early and moved to Bass Lake for the rest of our vacation. This lake would be great in fall or spring when the temperatures are not so hot. I will never go back here in the summer.

The site we used (#38) needs to be leveled. The asphalt rv pad has a sharp drop off where the earth has eroded. When you step out of your RV it is a real hazard. The public showers and bathrooms were very filthy and gross.

Love the Corps of Engineer campgrounds! Always well thought out, roomy and good amenities. We stayed 2 nights in early July, site #14. The site had a large oak tree - which was absolutely necessary in the 104 temps - though in late afternoon the shade was no longer on our site…. So we drove around to the day use area of Emerson Lake and sat in the water. Aaah! Relief! The bathrooms had hot showers and were pretty clean - a boon when you’re camping in a teardrop trailer. I would definitely camp here again… but maybe earlier in the season. I would also bring a kayak - some nice shoreline to paddle. Emerson lake which had been down quite a bit due to drought in the last year was not full, but only down 15 feet or so - I think mostly to allow for additional snowmelt runoff.

We stayed at Site 33 and stargazing was perfect. Restroom and camp site was very clean. Sites were not too close to each other and provided privacy. We visited the Eastman Lake Dam and Visitor Center Exhibit (it is obvious that much time and effort was focused on the exhibit displays). We took a longer drive around the area and there were many photo opportunities. After sundown, many types of flying bugs wanted to play with us, they would not leave us alone. We plan to return to Codorniz Campground in the cooler months.

We absolutely love this campground! The entire campground is well-kept, cleaned regularly and always in good repair. What is exceptional about this campground is that the camp hosts are genuinely happy to be there and make you feel so welcome and greet you anytime they go past your campsite. I know this may not seem like much to many, but for us it just adds to the enjoyment of our stay. The park rangers are also fantastic! They are super nice and helpful. We really enjoy coming here.

Terrible experience I’ve ever had on a camping site. Day before Father’s Day my son was having a fit and wasn’t going down what so ever but eventually did. Around 11pm I get woken up including my son and I have a sheriff and park ranger
Both being loud to the point everyone got woken up beside us. They were very short tempered and didn’t care that my son was asleep or that he was screaming his head off, (didn’t go back to bed till 3 in the morning) when I tried to tell the park ranger that my son is asleep she said that the only reason for doing any or all is because my car was parked 3 feet off the road. I didn’t get sleep or enjoy my stay waste of a weekend.

Nice Campground.
Having a reservation, I have experienced people have not checked out of site or are being bumped around to different sites making check in difficult.
