So much I wished I'd know before booking a site here.
First of, if you have a big rig know that to get to the campground you have to go down a one lane dirt road thats very curvy and steep and that you also have to leave that way too.
Second, photos of sites online are deceiving. When I booked my spot it looked like it had plenty of shade. Yet, when I arrived in 100 degree heat, it was fully exposed to the sun. Also, some sites are not right next to where you park. You have to haul all your stuff down steep steps, which I didn't even bother with.
Next, if you go for a spot with an electrical outlet be sure to ask how it works because there are a bunch of fuses in the box and since I wasn't sure how to use it I ended up not using it. That ledt me with $10 bucks down the drain and with no power left to my devices.
If you know the area, then you probably know which spots are good and which are not. Mine was just bad.
However, the lake is stunning, especially at night. So if you're good with risking the driving on the one-way hill and can get a spot by the lake, then go for it!
Lastly, the mapping of this campground is awful. I drove around in circles, trying to figure out how to exit. Thankfully, I found a regular there who helped me out, but I was stunned to know the exit was just as risky as the road in and out of the place.
I most likely will never stay here again, but it was definitely adventurous!
One last note, be careful of shopping at the local stores in this area. The place I stopped at was selling expired food and drinks.

Great campsite, welcoming staff. The site was clean apon arrival, and same could be said for the state of the bathroom. I enjoyed
my stay here and if I wanted to stay in this area again, I’d definitely go with this campsite. Gas station and other stores are a short distance away, convenient for last minute essentials.
Only negative side is the lack of signal—I had 0 services and nor did my friends with other services.

The double sites we reserved were perfect for our large family and very affordable . We had a trail leading down to the water and we could keep the kids in our sight as they swam. The site was close to the bathroom and the water for personal use! Great location for camping-

Nice location and views, after some clean-up. Unfortunately the campers prior to me left a mess (USB cords, beer bottle caps, cigarette butts, plastic bottles and caps, etc.). I spent the first hour picking up their mess so that I could enjoy the rest of my time without the sight of what they left behind. My father taught me to leave it as good or better than you found it. I did.
Greeting Ranger was friendly and provided helpful information about this particular campground.
Would have rated higher if I didn't have to do the clean-up of others.

My experience at the lake was excellent. I noticed the park and the lake was more clean No trash in the lake wich I love it. I think was perfect to have the park closed by memorial day weekend, because I noticed everything was cleaner. We should be more concerned to keep the lake and the campsite without trash.

It reached 107° one day during this visit. Pine Flat is a beautiful camping area with hills and shade trees. The summers are hot.

Nice weather in May. Parking space has been changed, which is a problem.

We had reservations starting on Christmas Eve (12/24/24) for 6 nights. We drove several hours, and upon arrival at about 3:30 p.m., the gate to the campground was locked. There were no rangers or any postings explaining why the gate was locked. After calling the phone number that was posted several times, no one answered. We chose this location because it is close to Sequoia. We called recreation.gov, and they had no answers either. So, we drove another two hours to another campground and arrived after dark. On Thursday, December 26, we received a phone call from Isaac apologizing. He said someone forgot to unlock the gate. This unacceptable lack of responsibility cost us a lot of extra time and money.
