This is the weirdest campground we have ever experienced. Many sites were hard to access, were located in odd places, and dirty. Our site, #9, was located in a parking lot. No host on site, though a ranger did come by near dark to verify we were legit.

Gets hot here but the site was breezy, had shade, beautiful view of the lake and we just loved it. Will be back.

First day ruined the whole stay. Previous camper overstayed and we had no place to set up the tent. We were so tired from the travel and just wanted to get our tent up and cook our food. We did not start setting up till they arrived and left at 830pm. We were already exhausted, hungry, dehydrated, and experienced heat exhaustion. We had headaches for 2 days. Not even the rangers could get a hold of the previous campers.

It is very hot in July. But the beauty of Pine Flat Lake made the visit worth while.

We were impressed with customer service before and during our trip. We had a question about the site so we called and left a message. They called back before the end of day to give us the answer. Even though the campground was pretty empty on the weekday but a ranger came to our reserved spot to make sure the correct registrant showed up for the day. Even though we were mostly left alone in the nature, which we like, we felt the sense of being protected at the right degree.

Third time coming here and I love how accessible the lake is to us. There are occasionally a lot of bugs but that’s really anywhere you camp so plan ahead. Closest convenience store is about 15 minutes and there isn’t really any service at the site. Great place to disconnect for the weekend.

This was our second time camping here this summer, but we have camped here numerous times over the past few years. I wouldn't recommend this campground to anyone expecting to sleep at night or to anyone with children (unless you want them to learn a wide variety of new cuss words and surprising new ways to use the F word). The campground rules are posted but no one is there to enforce them. There's nothing you can do about the loud music & the loud, vulgar, inconsiderate drunk people who yell & scream until 3:30 a.m. That's what we had to deal with last night. Quiet Time after 10:00 p.m. is a joke. If you're lucky you'll see the ranger one time in the early evening when he/she drives through the campground checking reservations which takes about 10 minutes and then they're gone again until the next evening. There is no campground host and nobody works at the pay-station anymore. You're left to deal with the chaos on your own and you can't even count on having a phone signal to call for help if you need to. I know I won't be camping here ever again.

I'd give 6 ⭐ if I could
I have been going to Island Park for over 20 years. Price is right on RV camping or tent camping. Lake is a walk away. Boat ramp is right there. Rangers are always polite and professional. Bathrooms, I think there are 4 with free hot showers. I love this place.

The site is not portrayed correctly in the pictures. The people next to us were smoking a lot of marijauna . The heat was triple digit and the bathrooms were filthy and had big problems too many. The table was on a slope someone tried to level it using rocks. The campsite was not level and it was very close to the other two campsites next to it. I'm not going to stay here again. Please have the forest service clean their restrooms properly. They neeed to be press washed and disinfected! Totally gross
