Is not ideal for a 5th wheel or travel trailer when the weather is hot, the sun beats on the front all afternoon

I'm fulltime and stay on public lands and federal campgrounds nearly every night of the year. This is the worst of any Federal campground I've ever stayed. Their rates are higher than any other campground that has full hookups, but this one has no amenities at all. The $40 is just your primitive site. It doesn't include your vehicle nor dump. Zero cell reception. Trash thrown about campsites.
Hosts are ridiculously hostile.
You're better off going to any of the private campgrounds around. At least you'll get full hookups, cable, wifi, laundry facilities and all for the same price. Or a few minutes up the road are a ton of dispersed sites that are much better than this dump.

The park is mostly very nice but there are a couple of criticisms. They don't trim their trees well enough on their roads. They scratch the sides of full width rigs. Also many of the campsites have the tables on the wrong side of your rig requiring you to either walk around your rig to serve at the table or go in the wrong way. Finally, there is no way to fill your water without blocking the narrow road at a narrow bridge unless your rig is very small.

Our first stay in a few years and we really enjoyed ourselves! The host and hostess were so welcoming and such nice people! They ran guard on the entrance, as they should, to let in only us campers. Otherwise, that campground would be run over with people looking for a place to park. Made it very comforting for us.
The campground, itself, is old Tahoe (except the new section in the middle) which makes for narrow driveways, sites and closed in by homes and broken down fences (in some parts). Little to NO AT&T cell service..only if you drive into Tahoe City, but, all that being said we really did enjoy our 2 nights. We drove in with a shredded tire. The camper across from us offered to change it for us, my husband went to the host to borrow a star tire tool which he came by and helped. Another camper was driving by and offered his car jack which the host went to get for us in his golf cart. Was so nice of everyone! The host and hostess (with the mostest) were so friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for dining out, Tahoe across the 2-lane road, lots of activity of kids, families, travelers...good vibes! Cute little market, as well, for basic fun necessities. To add to the never-a-dull-moment weekend...we heard fire sirens the a loud ka-boom. A fire had broken out in an old apartment building and exploded a propane tank (boom). We all gathered in front of the host trailer and watched the fireman put out the fire and clean up the mess.
Only negative/suggestion we have is the section of the entry road that we were on needs speed warning signs..people were driving pretty fast through there. We were in site 8 and had the forest view from the back! Very nice!
We're hoping to get back to William Kent before this season closes.

Nice campground by the lake. Has a little, pebble beach. No showers, no light or mirrors in the bathrooms but clean. Bears visit frequently but not aggressive. Don’t leave food out. Even keep an eye on food items while you are right there cooking.
Site 64 was large but not much flat space beyond the driveway. We needed to pitch our tent on driveway. Would be a great spot for an RV.

The handicap stall in the woman's restroom that was closest to our campsite was out of order for the entire lenght of our 5 night stay. At another restroom in the campgrounds, the non-handicap stall was out of order. When I asked the management if these can be fixed, he said that I would have to make a request to the government. He said that only the government can do repairs. A second complaint has to do with the quality of toilet paper in the restrooms (please do not laugh.) The paper was very narrow.
From William Kent I camped next at Wrights Lake. The toilet paper was like you would buy for your own home.
Whoever is responsible for purchasing toilet paper for William ZKent, should buy better quality

Our camp site was as described when sighed up. The hosts were available and helpful. Our neighbors were quiet and respectful. Our tent campsite had a slight slant, so we were all sliding down while sleeping, which was interesting. The campsite is a short walking distance away from the beach and convenient driving distance to other areas of local interests. We enjoyed the nature that the Lake Tahoe offers and are looking forward to returning.

Clean, spacious, shady and well kept site. Stayed at #74 which was great because it’s not on the main loop so no cars drive by. Also liked that it was on the inside of the camp surrounded by forest, versus the outer campsites which are backed by neighboring residential homes. Not a huge deal but kind of takes away from the camping ambiance. Camp hosts are wonderful and very helpful. Flush toilets with sink were clean and functional. Bear activity but there are bear lockers to use. Firewood was $12. A little market, some restaurants, and a beach are all within walking distance. The beach is pebbles, not sand, and you can swim. It’s very small but nice if not crowded. No cell service at the campsite but it was fine just outside at the beach. We will definitely be back!
