What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting, ideally located near Grant Grove and various hiking trails, including those to the General Sherman Tree. The campground is well-maintained, featuring clean restrooms, fresh water, and friendly park staff, contributing to a peaceful and relaxing experience. While some sites may be uneven and restrooms are a bit distant for some, the overall atmosphere, wildlife sightings, and access to nature make it a memorable destination.

We were able to walk to some top sights from the campground. Loved the deer and the many chipmunks that shared our campsite.

Great for first time campers because it’s one of the busier / more crowded campgrounds and it’s close to grant grove village market. Convenient if you forgot to bring something you can buy at the nearby market. Clean bathrooms. Functioning water sinks and flush toilets. Some sounds from the nearby highway at night. Peaceful and very close to General Grant Tree and short drive up to Panorama Point.
Site 97 is right next to the restrooms so you have quick access but people walking back and forth at night

This campsite only had one usable spot for setting up a tent, as the rest of the area was very sloped. It’s quite close to neighboring campsites, so privacy is limited. On the plus side, it’s conveniently located near two restrooms, which was helpful.

Great campsite in a super convenient location—right next to two restrooms, which made things easy. It was a bit dusty walking back and forth, but that’s to be expected in the area. The site itself had plenty of room with some nice flat spots for tents, and it didn’t feel too cramped since there was a comfortable amount of space between us and our neighbors. Overall, a solid spot if you’re looking for convenience and a bit of breathing room!
