What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting, ideally located near Grant Grove and various hiking trails, including those to the General Sherman Tree. The campground is well-maintained, featuring clean restrooms, fresh water, and friendly park staff, contributing to a peaceful and relaxing experience. While some sites may be uneven and restrooms are a bit distant for some, the overall atmosphere, wildlife sightings, and access to nature make it a memorable destination.

We had a spontaneous night at Azalea. Everything went out well. The campground is well located to reach the General Grant the other morning after a day in the Sequoia N.P.

Perfect campsite, the ground is leveled and it’s very isolated.

Great clean campground. It was a short walk away from the visitor center, restaurant, gift shops, and market. If you have a chance, go see Boole Tree (biggest tree you’ll ever see) it’s a short 5mile drive to the trailhead (keep in mind you’ll need a 4x4 or high clearance vehicle to get there). Hume lake is very close as well and is nice to go visit if you have kids. We specifically stayed at site #09 tents only. We didn’t like how close we were to the sites next to us. Our vehicle was literally parked next one sites tent and another separate sites bear locker. Definitely choose your site wisely if that something that bothers you. We recommend staying on the perimeter of any loop rather than staying on inside of the loop. We didn’t explore the campground too much, but from our understanding there was only one pair of facilities within the campground. We had a pretty fair experience here and would definitely come back to see more or kings canyon national park.

Beautiful and quiet campground. Very clean restrooms. If you have an rv be sure to bring lots of blocks. The sites on the outside of the loop slope down and the sites on the inside of the loop slope up. Took lots of blocks to get our 30' trailer level.

The only complaint I have are the driveways. They either go uphill or downhill depending on the which side of the road you are on. Most RV's cannot get level in these spots or require a significant amount of blocking.

You need to do a better job of vetting your camp hosts. I expected helpful and friendly but got controlling, arrogant, and condescending instead. It left a bad taste in my mouth.
