What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

A very typical NP campground, some sites are great, some are close together, so it depends on the luck of the draw. Site 108 is huge, however, it does have a very steep walk down from the car/parking area to the tent/bear box/table so it would not be ideal for people with mobility issues or who can't carry all their stuff a fair distance (it's a walk-in site).

Perfect base for exploring both Sequioa and Kings Canyo. Site 69 was perfect for a larger, 37' Motorhome, However, the personnel were not knowledgable about the area or about the campground. Navigating to the site was without a map or any help from the staff.

Campsites are literally on top of each other. defeats the whole point of camping in nature. If you go as a group and want to avoid "group Sites" this is the perfect site for you. Also, quiet time is NOT enforces. We had a large group (utilized 5 campsites) that were playing loud music and laughing until midnight. Due to the campsites so close together, campsites create a smoke cloud that you are caught in the middle of until the fires go out. Overall, it served its purpose but I look for other campsites when I return to King's Canyon.

Great campsite very close to General Grant. There's a Visitor Center nearby; they have Wi-Fi for critical messages in case your reception throughout the park is sparse. Water, trash disposal, bear boxes, and restrooms are all available. Plenty of space, although some sites have sloping hills where the tents are supposed to go. Cozy spot for those who don't need a hot shower. I would camp here again!

The checkin process was easy and the spot was easy to get to. We did have to level the right side of our RV. A short walk to the visitor center and an easy hike to General Grant Grove.
