What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

I was in space #32. There was no flat ground. Everything was tilted. Because of that, cooking was slow, and sleeping in our tent was awkward.
I love the park. This campground is great. The site that I stayed at, not so much. I will definitely return.

Terrible site. No shade after about 10am, site is not flat so your tent will be at an angle, and apparently the view is so good people randomly walk into/thru your site to check out the sunset.

Restrooms were clean. Campers were quiet and respectful. Sunsets were spectacular. Liked that there was a 1 mile trail direct from the amphitheater to the General Grant grove. Also nice that the general store and a restaurant were right across the street. Road work caused delays to/from the main portion of Sequoia, so we only did one day there. At least Sunset campground is convenient to Kings Canyon. Prices at the restaurant seemed a bit high, and the food quality was hit or miss. Liked the pizza. Did not care for the burger. Wings were so-so. Prices at the general store were fair. Would have liked the amphitheater to have been open. Would have liked more ranger walks/talks.

We were at camp 98 had a great time ,unfortunately the camp was on a slope which made sleeping a little uncomfortable. Besides that it was fantastic.
