What Guests Are Saying
Granite Flat campground is praised for its beautiful location near the Truckee River, clean facilities, and friendly camp hosts, making it a popular choice for annual visits. Many campers appreciate the easy access to outdoor activities like biking and floating, and the well-maintained restrooms add to the positive experience. However, road noise from nearby Highway 89 is a common concern, particularly at night, which can detract from the overall tranquility of the site.

The camp host wasn’t pleasant at all.
The campground, while beautiful-right on the Truckee River- is right on hwy 89, so quite noisy.

This campsite is terrible. Even though I had one of the better spots (closest to the Truckee River), the entire campground is way too close to Highway 88.
The passing car lights and the sound of louder vehicles really diminishes the outdoor experience. In my opinion, this site is only good for camping in an RV. I usually tent camp, but car camped here... and the headlights beaming into my car all night was obnoxious.
Also, the camp host never said anything about the family next door who pitched their tent 5 feet away from our fire pit... obviously encroaching by quite a bit into our site. I hope they enjoyed breathing our campfire smoke and listening to our discussions all night LOL.
Overall, this campground is good as a last resort... but it certainly wouldn't be my #1, 2, 3, 4, or even 5th choice.
