What Guests Are Saying
Granite Flat campground is praised for its beautiful location near the Truckee River, clean facilities, and friendly camp hosts, making it a popular choice for annual visits. Many campers appreciate the easy access to outdoor activities like biking and floating, and the well-maintained restrooms add to the positive experience. However, road noise from nearby Highway 89 is a common concern, particularly at night, which can detract from the overall tranquility of the site.

We had site 60 two nights and again the next week for one night but moved next door for a second night. Enjoyed the river view and just relaxing and having a camp fire.

Great campground, only negative is that it's right next to the highway so pretty noisy, even in late night/early morning. Choose the campgrounds the closest to the river, the sound of the river helps drowning out the sound of the highway. I was in lot 64 which seemed like one of better ones: Very spacious, I could have picked 5 tents if I needed to, and right on the river. There was a small gravel path right next to this lot leading to a mini beach where you can get in the water, it was very nice. Lot is right next to the toilets, which were very clean and didn't smell. Close to a ton of mountain biking trails.

I had an amazing time with my friends at this campsite. I loved the Truckee river that was nearby and enjoyed my morning tea during my stays. However, this campsite is more of an RV campsite than tent set ups, and it was not relaxing with the highway right next to the campsite. I got used to the sound, but if you want something more quiet in a tent set up (which is what I used), this might not be the campsite for you.
