What Guests Are Saying
Granite Flat campground is praised for its beautiful location near the Truckee River, clean facilities, and friendly camp hosts, making it a popular choice for annual visits. Many campers appreciate the easy access to outdoor activities like biking and floating, and the well-maintained restrooms add to the positive experience. However, road noise from nearby Highway 89 is a common concern, particularly at night, which can detract from the overall tranquility of the site.

Could hardly back in to our camp site due to tree branches hanging low and the camp spot right next to us was so close we could barely put out our pop out. Thank goodness they were part of our group. The other spot we had was literally on the main road.

We had a beautiful riverside site #10 the only drawback is the highway noise other than that we love it there. The restrooms are clean and well kept. The camp host is very friendly and helpful. One recommendation would be to have doggie waste bags available around the camp grounds and on the trails. Other than that our experience was great!

Camp sites are clean and well spaced with great views of the river for those on the river side. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was the highway that is close to the campground. But even that said, I would go back again.

A good alternative for lake tahoe campgrounds, one minor thing is that they are close to the road, try to get sites closer to the river.

We were looking for something close to Truckee, which this campground is. We left after checking in with the host who informed us Highway 89 which the facility backs up to (like 30 feet away) would have road noise until 11 pm and starting again at 5:30 am. Campsite very small and not level.
