We camp here mutiple times per summer for about 5 years now. We loved this place for the quiet and the fishing and hiking. This was our 3rd trip to Lakeside camp ground this year. This trip was only ok, not the usual great trip we have had years prior. This trip there was a JET SKI on the lake and multiple OHVs in camp. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Boca and Stampeed are nearby for power boats and OHVs have plenty of terrain outside of the campgound! Not the quiet, relaxing fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding and hiking place it use to be.

I've stayed multiple nights at this campground in the past so I had a good idea of what to expect. Further, I was aware of potable water not being available due to low lake levels and so was prepared for that. What was surprising and disappointing was the loud shouting, talking, laughing around midnight or 1am on 6/25. I was really there just to sleep and was hoping it would be quiet. Though all other sites were, site 30 or 31 had a group that just didn't abide by common courtesy rules. Since I was too tired to do anything about it, I didn't tell anyone and left very early in the morning, quickly and quietly on the 25th. Really, having all sites be quiet by 10pm would have taken this from a 3* to 5*.

This was our first time camping at Lakeside. We camped in mid June. It was lovely. Temperatures were a bit cool but not encomforatlbly so, and no mosquitos! There were beautiful purple flowers around the lake. It was quiet and peaceful. We were close enough to the lake to tram the kayaks to the water. We will definitely stay here again.

The camp sites are very large and spacious. I camp here frequently. One complaint I have is that ohv's drive down in places where they are prohibited. They just run over the signs. This has been happening for the last several years that I have been going. This year there were pelicans, ducks, geese and killdeer nesting with babies and the ohv's went into their nesting areas and did spin outs drove all over and stirred up dirt and dust. I imagine that babies were killed and nests disrupted and destroyed. I have never seen a ranger do anything about this and it is quite upsetting. There are several roads and places for ohv's. I'm not sure why they continue to go where they are prohibited. Especially when there is an abundance of wildlife at risk.

We usually love this place and have camped here many times over the years. However, this trip was not the usual great time. No camp host, and too many people riding, dirt bikes, quads and side by sides THRU CAMP. We saw several US Forest Service Rangers, who did nothing. Well, one actually stopped a side by side in the camp ground and told the people they needed to be wearing helmets!!!!! Really! No mention of the posted rules that OHVs are not allowed in the campground. At least 10 different vehicles rode through camp multiple times. No one said a word. It was ridiculous that the Rangers did not enforce the posted rules. We have another upcoming trip, I hope this does not happen again.

There was no camp host around. I drove around several times and couldn't find my campsite number. Ended up having to get a hotel. Not good.

No campfires and no water made it a pretty disappointing camping trip
