The campsites are really close together. People (including myself) have to walk across other people’s campsites in order to get to the bathrooms and our cars. It is otherwise a beautiful campground. A great option if you can’t secure a campsite in the Valley.

Hodgdon Meadow Campground provides minimal services (nice flush toilets), and decent sites (clean, well maintained, large enough). It is close to the west entrance, so drives to the Valley take about 40 minutes. Nearby are the sequoia groves, Tuolumne Grove and Merced Grove. It is quiet and peaceful. The meadows themselves are lovely, and are a short walk from the campground.

Très bien, en pleine nature c’est génial
Emplacements très proches les uns des autres par contre.

If you want a quieter place to camp in Yosemite, this is the place. It doesn't have the hustle and bustle of the campgrounds in the Valley or elsewhere inside the park. It was only a 30 min. drive to Yosemite Valley and about 50 min. to Glacier Point- which isn't too bad. The rangers were also friendly and attentive in keeping the campground clean and organized. One downside is that the sites are small. If you are having more than one tent (3 person or larger tent), you may have to play tent tetris to not set up/sleep on slanted ground. We noticed a lot of sites had this issue.

Good luck finding a level spot for your camper or tent. Nothing "meadow" about this campground. That being said; tons of shade, clean bathrooms, quiet, very friendly/helpful ranger and camp host. Over an hour drive from the main valley. The reservoir that was about a 20 minute drive was very cool. Same with the sequoia grove we hiked (again, needed to drive to it). Easier to get campsites here than in the valley.

The bathroom facilities need to be more and showers would be nice to have. Also firewood onsite even to pay for would be nice. The onsite camp host lady in the truck camper was awesome. It is definitely time to upgrade the facilities. There are not enough of them for the size of the campground that is always full and everyone is in need as they are all tenting.

BIG, busy, clean but well used
Delightful, Helpful, Informative (volunteer) Camp Hostess
Typical plodding, unorganized begrudging entrance booth government employees

Pretty nice campground, albeit a bit of close quarters with our neighbors. Despite this, campgrounds were quiet and bathrooms were clean.
