NPS does a nice job managing all the people in YNP. It's impressive.

The location is beautiful- close to Mirror Lake and Happy Isle and Curry Village. It's great to watch the alpenglow on Half Dome each night. Bring hand soap for the bathrooms. Don't expect privacy and bring earplugs if you are tenting.

We had an amazing time camping and exploring the park. Love north pines listening to the river all night. We will definitely camp again.

Site had room for two camper vehicles. Clean. AT&T service didn’t work at the campsite but was fine in Yosemite Village. Site 312.

It is unfortunate that the entrance/front desk rangers have no way of helping people get a site. There is really no data phone signal in Yosemite Valley, so using recreation.gov is nearly impossible - so many sites sit unused. We had to leave outside of the park and camp for 1 night, when every night we did stay in North Pines and Upper Pines, there were probably 10+ sites unused. We travel out of state to other parks and in the Tetons, Zion etc, the Rangers are always so helpful and tell us to get in line the next morning at 4 or 5 am to see if a site opens up. And that always worked for us. The Rangers in Yosemite just say, "Everything is full, you have to use rec.gov". So people sneak in, use the empty sites, and leave early in the morning - wish I had thought of this to save us gas and mileage on our RV.
