While I'm in favor of responsibly watching and storing your food while at your campsite, the new policy the Rangers told me was a little extreme. I was told even during food preparation time that a ice chest should not be outside of the bear box unless your hand is in it, even if it was within Arms Reach.
Other than that it was normally beautiful and crowded.

Campsites were kind of close together but the neighbors were nice and quiet. Nice to be close to the Merced River. Views of Half Dome and Yosemite Falls as you walk around.

This site (#105) was so extremely narrow and close to the adjacent site that it was difficult to squeeze between my little van and the neighbors slide out. FIrst there were THREE families in the adjacent site that continually cut through my campsite (between my van and my chair and table) to get the restrooms and then the motor home with slideout that ran it's generator at all hours of the night. All in all I ended up leaving a day early just to get some peace. Would definitely NOT recommend 105 unless you are camping WITH the people next door.

As you will note in the allowable equipment, this site is too small for a tent. It worked well for our campervan but even then it was so tight with our neighbors at first I couldn't tell which picnic table was ours. It was level, shady and close to bathroom. No cell service with Verizon or AT&T. Not a favorite site but it is Yosemite after all and you do have a nice little glimpse of Yosemite falls.

It is a privilege to camp in the middle of Yosemite Valley. North Pines are clean, relatively quiet, rather densely occupied, so not much privacy.

The campsite had plenty of space and some shade near the merced river.

Been coming here for years. Best campground in Yosemite. A ranger or camp host should be present at the dump station during busy times such as Sunday morning. We saw several instances of unsanitary practices and bad manners which slowed the line down and created possible health hazards.

Great location and spot for what I needed. Would say that all Yosemite bathrooms need to have either thicker ply toilet paper or toilet paper rolls that actually rotate- it is a whole project getting enough TP from the bathroom stall.
