Great camping system for backpackers! Just roll in and pay on the spot the days before and after the backpacking adventure. Very well thought and the space is safe and taken care of.

I stay in the backpackers campground before and after my backcountry backpacking trips. Enjoy the space, just wish the outhouse smells didn’t permeate the campground. Also, using a QR code to pay for sites is a great idea except when you don’t have cell service you can’t complete transaction. Not sure what the work around can be.

All directions were followed on the provided board at the backpackers camp which requires one to pay the fee, write down information on the sheet, and add a tag to your tent. All this was completed only for no officials to enforce the operation, allowing other campers to run in at night and set up camps in your paid campsite. Extremely annoying as I paid a fee for what reason? While others come in blasting white lights, constantly slamming the bear box doors, and making tons of noise to about midnight. Worst night of sleep I’ve had camping.

Site 402 is good for a 35 foot motorhome. If parking on the right side the motorhome tail will hang over the back curb. An extra car can be parked next to the motorhome.
The site as sun in the morning and shade in the afternoon.

I was there on August 12, 2023 and couldn't use this site as I had a tent. The site has no place to put a tent, however small, as it's overgrown with weeds and has many potholes. One can't even pitch a tent on the driveway as it's paved. Luckily I had a wilderness permit for the following day and could stay at the backpacker's campground, but had to pay additional money to stay there. This site should not be advertised as allowing a small tent. It is only for RVs and car camping. Very misleading.

Excellent interaction with rangers. Site and toilets were clean. Very full with backpackers.

Great campground about 10 minutes walk from Curry Village. Yosemite was amazing. The only small annoyance were the irregular shuttle buses making them pretty much useless. If you can, bring your own bikes because it was $50 to hire one for the day.

We truly enjoyed the camping experience. The location was fantastic being close enough to all of the amenities we wanted and needed. Lastly, the other campers were cordial and the rangers were pleasant.

Loved our trip to North Pines Campground. Site 404 had a fantastic view of half dome and was nice and shady. Close enough to hear the River and close to the restrooms.
