This should not be a campsite. It’s directly in front of the bathrooms and about 10 feet from the trash receptacle. Campers are constantly walking through your campsite to fill water, use the restroom, and throw out there trash. In the 12 hours I was there, 4 people walked within 2 feet of me while I was standing at the tailgate of my truck.
Campers here do not understand basic camping etiquette. This site should be made into a pathway.

First I need to start with the fact that I love Yosemite. I try to go every year. That being said Upper Pines is like a big parking lot. The campsites are tight and narrow. The bathroom nearest to us was gross so we walked further to one that seemed to be cleaner. We were there in August and it was very warm so there were few campfires to make the valley smokey (which seems to be a general complaint by many). One suggestion would be to educate folks on camping etiquette and not cutting through other folks campsites. It's just common courtesy (that apparently isn't so common). August is a very dry time to visit Yosemite so be prepared to miss out on the iconic waterfalls. The Merced was just a trickle but we found a spot to get our feet in the water. Had Sunday Brunch at the Awahnee. Food was just okay but we went for the ambiance which did not disappoint.

Stay here every time. Crowded but good size sites. It’s the valley so can’t expect solitude. Cell service is basically non existent but that’s a good thing.

This site was a good size for multiple tents. Bathroom was well maintained. The view was spectacular, particularly from my hammock. When I arrived there was an unusual amount of micro trash (wrappers and paper scraps) throughout the site. But, once that was cleaned up, it was great. Highly recommend.

This site is spacious with a decent amount of privacy, and it stays pretty quiet overall. There’s some shade during the day, not a lot, but not completely exposed either. T-Mobile has signal here, so you can make calls without issue. Overall, a really solid campsite.
