Very large groups of children miss using the restrooms, causing over crowding and unpleasant groups littering all over Yosemite valley. Little to no adult supervision. Kids running back and forth from one tent to another. Yelling during quiet times. Should not allow large groups in single/ small group camp areas it causes a tremendous amount of inconvenience. They should be restricted to large camp group areas in the park and have more supervision.

Excellent campground and campsite. You can't beat the proximity to the Valley and Curry Village. Our campsite was just a short walk to Curry Village and multiple shuttle stops.
I did have my portable charger stolen while charging in the restroom, which isn't the campground's fault but it's worth noting for future residents.

This campsite was amazing. Plenty of shade and has a small creek that flows through back of campsite. Our kids loved playing in it. A few sites away is shortcut to get to Mist Trail. The campsite was level and perfect for our RV. Definitely one of the prettiest campsites in Upper Pines. Also so cool watching all the wildlife in the woods behind campsite.

My campsite was next to the large RV and they ran their generator 7am to 9am, 12pm to 2pm and 5pm to 7pm every day for 4 days. I understand that is allowed per campground rules. They spent their time watching TV during this time. However, THESE RULES NEED TO CHANGE! Allow only 1 hour periods. The other issue is camp site encroachment with tents to close to my tent. People stay up to midnight intoxicated and taking to loud and finally falling asleep sorning to loud. Final issue was the theft of my camp stove.

I adore being able to camp on the valley floor of Yosemite, even if you are packed in like sardines in some of the campgrounds, Upper Pines being no exception. The sites furthest south and east (towards the "back" of the campground) feel most spacious and incorporated into nature. And the ones towards the north side (closest to the entrance) offer easiest access to walking along the valley floor. The bathrooms are clean and lovely; drinking water taps are appreciated.
Yosemite is the most dog-friendly of any of the National Parks, being that your pup is welcome to walk on leash all along the paved valley walkways. We loved walking absolutely everywhere during our stay -- from Upper Pines up to Mirror Lake back to Curry Village and over to the base of Yosemite Falls. You can definitely get your steps in from this basecamp!
It's a lucky turn when you can nab a campsite here. This was my 5th night I've stayed in this area, and am looking forward to getting back.
