Upper Pines Campground is a nice location for it's proximity to the river and easy access to Curry Village.
Bikes are a must for everyone in our group because biking everywhere is so convenient and is always the highlight of the experience for the kids.
On this visit we drove to Glacier Point. The view is worth the drive. Some in our group hiked back down to the valley from there (about 5 hours) while others did the shorter excursion at Sentinel Dome/Taft Point. That was just over an hour.
In terms of the campground, we were very surprised at the fact that the bathrooms were so small compared to the ones we are used to in Lower Pines where we usually camp. One stall for the men. Two stalls for the women. And one of the sinks wasn't working. The campground was full...and these bathrooms were just not sufficient.

Stayed here just one night before moving over to North Pines for the rest of our 7 night stay. We scored this spot a few days before our main reservation after someone cancelled. Loved the location of the campsite, as well as the campground. We’ve stayed at this campground before and love the location. Our reservation was on Friday night and we got in around 9:30. Quiet hours start at 10 PM, but it was extremely quiet when we arrived. This campsite is spacious and not super close to other campsites.

I was fortunate enough to spend two days at the Upper pine Campground with 4 friends visiting from Japan, creating unforgettable memories. It was also incredibly convenient to have meals and showers at the nearby Curry Village.
