Chapman Campground is praised for its stunning natural beauty, well-maintained facilities, and friendly camp hosts, making it a top choice for campers. Many reviews highlight the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the peaceful atmosphere, with opportunities for wildlife viewing and outdoor activities like hiking and fishing. We got site 02 which was a great spot in my opinion, short walk to bathroom but without the smell also had a bit of privacy from both site 01 and 03. The campground keepers had a great personality and both are welcoming and understanding.

Chapman is a"gem" tucked away in the mountains east of Basalt. The loops are spread over a large area and many of the sites are next to the Frying Pan River...a gold medal place to fish for trout. If you don't like river fishing, try the reservoir. And if you don't like fishing, just sit by the shore and watch the osprey and eagle do the fishing. There are also deer, moose and fox in the area....a wonderful place to take wildlife photos. The camp hosts, both couples, are helpful, courteous and making every effort possible to be sure you have a great visit.

The campground was well maintained and the site, itself, was beautiful. The hosts were friendly and made sure we didn't need anything. It was a pleasure and we have already booked another visit later this year at the same place.
