The campground itself was fine (although the picnic tables are due for an upgrade). The hosts were nice and the bathrooms were clean. The road into the campground, however, is terrible. We were expecting it to not be great, based on previous reviews, but it was worse than we were prepared for. It took an hour to travel that 10 mi of washboard road. Because of that, we will not return to this campground.

Nice spot on a quiet spur of the campground. Not far from the creek or river. If you plan to have more than one tent be aware that the woods behind the site have a lot of rocks so hard to find a perfect second spot for a tent.

We have camped in this area for over 60 years. I have never had an experience like this with the camp hosts in all my years camping. Colorado was in severe fire danger state wide, the state had posted level 2 restrictions starting at midnight on July 4th. The campers next to us had a campfire every night including July 4th. At about 4pm, firefighters from Laramie Wyoming came through tagging all fire pits with a no fire flag, they put the fire out at site 10, next to us. We talked with the firefighters about the severity of a campfire, they said that is why they were sent there from the Sheep Mountain fire that they were fighting for 2 weeks. The campers from site 10 went to the camp host, came back and built the campfire again. When the camp hosts, (Billy and Rhonda) came by I stopped them to ask why they allowed them to rebuild the fire. Billy got irate with me and asked if I could read, that the state had posted level 2 for midnight on the 4th. I do not believe that people like this should be managing a campground in Colorado. They jeopardized the campground and the entire area for one camp site to have a fire because that was the state instructions. They also informed us that the firefighters had no idea what was going on. I will continue my crusade against people like this who are in a position to ensure safety of all involved not one camp site. 13 years ago there was a devastating fire int the same area, and the scar is still evident. Also, after we left the fire by Lake City broke out and the one over the mountain in Ouray was also burning. Please review camp hosts experience and integrity. I do not feel Billy and Rhonda have that agenda!

We had an amazing time at Thirty Mile campground. It was very clean and quiet and most of all beautiful. We loved all the friendly wildlife that passed through the camp. We will definitely return.

Large camping lots with lots of shade. A little bit of a rough road to get to the campground, but worth it. Good place to base camp for fishing, hiking, visiting Creede. Tons of ATV activity. Campground bathrooms were average, clean but smelly.

Very nice campground! Spacious and quiet. Would give it 5 stars but that 10 mi of dirt road getting in there is brutal. Like driving on a washboard. It took us 45 minutes to go the 10 mi pulling a trailer. Other than that, no complaints.

From Alamosa, go west on US 160 to South Fork. Turn northwest on State
Highway 149 through Creede. Continue on Highway 149 to mile marker 41,
turn west (gravel road) on Rio Grande Reservoir Road and continue for 12 mi to
Thirty Mile Campground.
Thirty Mile Campground is accessible via US Highway 160 and State Highway 149. US 160 is approximately 25 miles to the south, providing access to South Fork.
