Thirty Mile Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, well-maintained sites and friendly, attentive hosts. Guests appreciate the clean restrooms, privacy among campsites, and access to fishing and hiking opportunities. However, the road leading to the campground is rough, and some visitors experienced noise issues from nearby campers.

We reserved site 23 at 30 Mile and arrived (7/14/24) to find that the campsite next to us was occupied by TWO large units (one 30+ footer and one 22+ footer) both of which were apparently allowed along with two vehicles. Not a problem. Until the boom box started and the many small children screaming started. Campground hosts were non existent. Campground is directly on the Rio Grande river. Access was impaired by the large number of fly fishermen who were all very polite and encourage us to use the river for our dogs. But have you ever seen two retrievers try and dodge multiple fly fisher lines. Not fair to the dogs or fishermen. Multiple Off Highway Vehicles (OHV) punctuated the quiet starting aroung 7am, again campground hosts were apparently oblivous to the noise. But the biggest negative for this campground is the access road. 10 miles of dusty washboard road to get to the campsite. A big shout out to the road crews who work hard to mitigate the "washboard" with little success. We are still cleaning the dust and mud from our trailer's under carriage and external areas. We moved to another campground after 2 days. Highly recommend this campground to fly fishermen and women as well as OHV users. DO NOT RECOMMEND for those who seek quiet.

We have been camping at Thirty Mile for several years. Our grown children are also now enjoying camping here and we often meet them here to experience it together. We were in a double site this time due to availability of campsites at the time of booking. We were a bit disappointed with this trip due to the campers across from us partying until 1:00 AM. Their noise kept us awake. We come here for a peaceful and quiet experience in the mountains and our neighboring campers obviously were not.

Terrible road leading to campground. Miles of the worst washboarded road that I have ever driven. I would not visit campground again because of the road.
The actual campground was excellent. Hosts were to notch too.

Excellent clean campground. While they say watch out for the Bears, also watch out for the deer, they will steal your stuff. One that has zero fear of people will go onto your picnic table and your stuff. Keep your campsite clean. The host were excellent and it was very quiet and relaxing.
