I loved this campground. Deer greeted me the first evening, and I was able to do some hiking on trails around the campground. Next to the Colorado River, excellent forest, clean vault toilets. It a bit of a drive to get there, we’ll worth a several night stay.

Great drive, great campsite, great time. Couple really cool trails right off the campsite, good fishing spots, and open areas. Bumpy road leading up to the site so drive an appropriate car.

We stayed over Labor Day weekend 2022 and loved it. We did not use the bathrooms nor did we meet the campground hosts. My husband loved fishing the river next to the campground. A few deer roamed between campsites every night. The county road to the campground is dirt and very bumpy....a slow slog to & from the highway to the campground. The campsites are a wee bit too close together for our liking. But, all-in-all, a good place to hang out for a few days.

We really enjoyed our time. It was peaceful, the camp host was really helpful when we got there and all during our stay. The surroundings are beautiful. the only drawback is that the number of the sites needs to be seen from both directions. We plan on coming back!

It's a nice campground & the area is beautiful. We've stayed there a lot & my only beef is that the Forest Service could trim some of the tree branches to make pulling into a site a little easier. Our trailer is only medium sized, but I'm always in the branches going around a bend in the road, or raking the truck with branches backing into a site.

We loved our 2 sites with grandparents, parents and kiddos. The bathrooms are lovely, the host Alan was great, and we enjoyed hiking, playing in the river and creek, and visiting Lake City and North Clear Creek falls. We had ice cream at Freemon's, and showers at the Snowshoe Lodge in Creede. The campground was very quiet, with large spaces, and we have been there several times now - it's one of our favorites.
