About Jefferson Creek

Campers looking for a pleasant fishing destination with great mountain views will enjoy camping at Jefferson Creek. The campground is located a short drive or hike from Jefferson Lake. The lake is one of the highest elevation lakes around, capping 10,685 feet elevation and bordered by steep 12,000 foot peaks. Fishing in both the creek and lake offer promising catches of trout. Another noteworthy aspect of the campground is its access to the Colorado Trail.

Overall a very good stay. There was a person who ran a generator every evening from 7:00 to 9:30 PM. He had all day to run the generator but I'm guessing that these hours were necessary to watch TV or a movie. I have a generator so I understand the need. New camper trailers don't have propane fridges so sometimes it's hard to keep the battery charged but come on people ...please be considerate.

What a great little campground! Very quiet on weeknights, close to Denver, and very easy to get to. Sites were large and plenty of room between. Restrooms were clean and there was a nice painting in one of them, maybe by the campground host? It was nice to see some younger than usual hosts, they were very nice. There is a user fee for the recreation area which is separate from the camping fee; I'd seen some information but couldn't find solid details online. It was $8 for the two nights/3 days so not a problem and the hosts collected the fee. I had cash, not sure if that's required but would be nice to know ahead of time if it is. Also, Jefferson Lake is a gem for paddling and fishing, We waited out some rain and had the whole lake to ourselves. Clear water, lovely shorelines, and great views. Also not crowded on weekdays. We will be back!

We were in space 2 and area has a drop right where you open door prom camper which is quite dangerous if you forget. Also there too many large stones around the camper area you step on and twist your foot . Parking area is quite small and hard to get into. We do like the dam area it was kind of crowded and too many cars for a small area we feel. First water station is terrible can’t pump out easily. Hosts were nice

Cleanest campsite we’ve experienced in a long time. Hosts were super friendly and helpful. Access to hiking along the CT and W Jeff Creek trails from the site.

Site #14 had ample shade throughout the day. A bit of a challenge to pitch a large tent (4 person) but easier to situate a 2-3 two-person tents around the space.

Will definitely come back.

Restrooms were pretty clean. County road leading to entrance was horrible washboard (this is the Park County's fault though) once inside fee area the road was fine. Should be as they keep raising the required entrance fee. Now up to $8.
