Very nice campground. We enjoyed the lake, which was almost completely frozen over. Very beautiful. Also enjoyed the many beaver ponds and the hiking trails in the area. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. We were a bit surprised at the $7 fee to get into the Jefferson Lake area, this fee was in addition to the CG and reservation fees we had already paid.

Terrific location, clean, and quiet. Lake Jefferson is a 4 minute drive. Plenty of wildlife around to admire. Highly recommended.

Beautiful campground, huge private sites in the trees. Hosts were awesome and friendly, toilets were clean. Loved this campground and will be back again.

Restrooms were clean as they usually are. We've been camping in this spot for years now and this year noticed the Bear proofing on campground trash containers was not being used. Sure enough at 3:00AM one of the nights a bear was dumpster diving right in front of our site. Not sure why they decided not to use the trash container securing rods and hopefully it won't cost the bear his life with continued habituation to humans.

Quiet and peaceful campground , trailhead in walking distance from sites , bathroom clean and water pump. Road in is bumpy but do-able in our Accord.

From US Highway 285 at Jefferson, Colorado, take County Road 35 north to County Road 37 and turn right. Pay the user fee at Jefferson Lake Recreation Area entrance station and continue on the road to the campground.

Alert for Reservation Holders: There is a one-time fee of $11.00 to enter Jefferson Lake Recreation Area in which your campground is located. You will only have to pay this fee once for the duration of your stay.

Please note it is difficult to access Jefferson Lake Recreation Area during the winter months; the roads to this site are not maintained for snow throughout the winter. County Road 37 is an unpaved gravel surface road that leads to the entrance of the area. |
