I stayed at Jefferson Creek camp site 10. It was perfect! Beautiful scenery and positioned well enough in the trees where you felt like there was sufficient privacy for a shared campground. Additionally there were a few trails that branched from the campgrounds to where you don't have to drive to find a place to hike or bike.
Then two things I forgot to bring and wish I had was a camp chair and bug spray. There were so many mosquitos! However once the fire was started those pesky bugs stayed away. Also if you were moving like walking on a hike, they could never bite you. The camp site was about 15min from Jefferson, CO where there was a general store to purchase items one had forgot to pack.

We were at site #3. It was huge and easily fit 2 very large tents with room for the kiddos to run around. Lots of trees and shade, perfect for hammocks. The vault toilets were very clean and we rarely smelled them if at all, which was a relief because site 3 is right next to the toilets! There are trails to explore and the camp host was very nice and friendly. My only complaint was the tree stump that was behind one of the parking spots....I may or may not have tripped on it a couple times...
I would 100% recommend this campground... especially sites 3 and 4!

I truly love camping at Jefferson Lake. We see moose and deer, love to fish, and go hiking. I most often take my grandson, who as a ten year is my camping buddy.

My major complaint is that virtually every RV uses a generator. Most of them are turned off by 9 or 10pm, but invariably one or two run all night. I wish that there was better signage at each campground that tells the users of generators that they need to be turned off, no later than 10pm.
