We stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of June 2022. We were able to park at the lot reserved for cross river sites. Access to the site is via a short walk and bridge crossing (I’d say 70yds). There are 4 steps leading up to and after the bridge. On the site side there are uneven stones. You should definitely take a pull cart.
The rock formations are beautiful and there are trails nearby. The river is a stones throw away. Trees galore and a nice NE breeze. This campground is located under a heavily used arrival path for jets landing at DIA and surrounding airports. Host (Josh) was really cool and the other campers were very polite.
Will definitely come back.

Due to a foot of snow my first night there, not many people showed up. the campground host was very pleasant, but she left prior to my departure. I met two couples, both retired like myself and enjoyed their company.

Stayed 2 weekend nights at a walk-to site. Excellent Campground. Clean, with beautiful Tarryall creek running next to sites and through a small canyon (good flow in late May, 1'-4' deep) . A 2.7 mile trail (one-way, not 2.0 miles as sign states) runs from the camp site to Lizard rock.
Vault toilets were clean, working water from a hand pump well (slight off-taste), and hosts were very chill and reasonable. I would say over half of the campers at sites #3-10 brought at least 1 dog.
#3 - no shade but very short distance to bring equipment and right next to a rock formation. Great place for kids to climb up the rocks.
#4 - right next to creek and very cool rock formation/shelter built in. Fire reflects off rocks at night. Little shade.
#5 - some shade, right next to trail head and next to creek. Must cross bridge.
Carts recommended for sites #6-10 if you like to camp in comfort. Bridge has steps so must lift any carts used to haul equipment over steps.
#6 - lots of trees and shade. Directly next to site 7 with a boulder for separation.
#7 - 2 trees for shade, lots of space. Not directly next to creek but no campsites between #7 and creek. Site #7 is across the creek bridge despite what the recreation.gov map shows.
#8 - No trees, no shade. This site is not recommended. You cannot pitch your tents outside of the site boundaries (e.g., next to creek under tree shade as some campers did this weekend and got in trouble).
#9 - Good shade and large boulder built into site but very long walk. Highly recommend a cart.
#10 - Longest walk but only 1 site neighbor. Will probably have a lot of foot traffic around this site from people getting into the creek as this is an excellent location to climb on creek boulders.
Negative: my wife hit the boulders in front of the vault toilet with our 4runner. Would not mention but it looked like this was not the first car to do this. They are just low enough that you cannot see if you are backed into the single spot with an SUV.
