What Guests Are Saying
Lakeview Campground offers stunning views, well-maintained sites, and a private, quiet atmosphere, making it a favorite among visitors. Many appreciated the clean facilities and helpful camp host, Rick, who enhances the experience. While some sites may be smaller than advertised and noise from nearby roads and dispersed campers can be an issue, the overall beauty and accessibility to trails and nearby lakes make it a worthwhile destination.

Seems like an older campground, based on the bathrooms which are quite rustic, but clean The site quality varies greatly. Some had picnic tables that were not very accessible. I was lucky and had a site that was well laid out. Other reviewers have raved about the views - well, yes, you can see the lake a bit through the trees, but really, not all the sites have great views and some have no view at all. Since the campground is built on a hillside, almost all of the campsites look down on other campers or on roads.

Gorgeous mountain and lake views from site E13. Plenty of evergreen and Aspen trees throughout this campground, thus providing shade, privacy, and beauty.
Latrine was spotless and fresh-smelling.
Terrific place to stay.

Site E8 had no tent pad, and had campers right above you looking down on you. Would not recommend this particular site. Otherwise it was quiet and bathrooms were very clean.

Gravel roads are obviously dusty but the constant flow of traffic was a bit much. Everything was covered in dust after just the first few hours. Dust and traffic also made it unenjoyable to sit outside or in a tent. I would not recommend this campgrounds for tent camping.
Also had a bear walking through every night and no bear lockers to store food, kept everything in the vehicle.

Great proximity to hiking Mt Elbert and other hiking trails. Our site was fairly level. Nice picnic table and grill/fire pit.
Pit toilets were clean. Be aware that there is no dump station at this campground. Actually there is no water available at all (no faucets) for washing camping dishes, dousing campfires, etc. We'll camp here again.

It was such a lovely campground, definitely one of the best ones I’ve ever been to. It was clean and well kept. The views were just amazing, I think we happened to get the best spot on the campground. Anytime I come back to Twin Lakes, I will be staying here!
