Although we didn't have the spot with the best view, we were impressed with the clean bathrooms and the well-kept camping areas. The staff that we met were friendly and they kept a close eye on the place. We would definitely go back.

Stayed for a week in July 2024. Leadville was so close were there daily. Used campground as a base for trips to Frisco, Silverthorne, Vail, Aspen, Buena Vista and Colorado Springs. Campground centrally located to all. Twin Lakes great place for kayaking and other water sports.

The camp site is very clean and a beautiful area. Ground is very hard here for stakes, but fishing twin lakes made up for it. Great fishing directly down the hill.

We enjoy Lakeview campground. Many good level sites throughout the campground but not all. Our group has met there the last 3 years and enjoy our stay but we are disappointed the water system has been out of service the last 3 years we have stayed. We have to bring or seek water while we are there. I believe we will look for different campground until they have water again.

The layout (of Loop A, at least) is small and often awkward for RVs. Sites are not graded well and are too short and close to the loop road. Pull-off angles are very difficult to back into. I had to pull into our site against the traffic flow in order to set the RV in a level position clear of trees. The sites in loop A are not very private. There's little brush or small tree cover, just a monoculture of 8-10 inch diameter spruce. The restroom was clean and the camp host was pleasant. The scenery from loop A is mostly "up" into the mountains. Overall these things are mostly nuisances if you are there for its proximity to the 14-ers, Independence Pass, fishing spots, and the lakes.

It would have been a nice experience except for the neighboring campers -- they were a group that prepared food for about 100 young people (staying in different loops or ?somewhere), who swarmed our tiny campground for meals. They dined at my picnic table, leaving it a mess, caused long lines at the 2 bathrooms, and were generally as loud and disruptive as you would expect a huge group to be. The cooking group woke the entire campground up at 7am preparing breakfast (we were all tent campers). Leader assured me they had the blessing of the camp host and did this every year.

I would give the camp host 10 stars if I could! He did an amazing job at keeping the campsites and bathrooms cleaned and was very helpful in accommodating our large group.
I only deducted a star because it rained heavily during our stay and our campsite (A-9) ended up had a river going through it, with the fire pit located right in the middle of the river. Fortunately, the rain put out the fire before the water carried the coals away, but it took several hours for the water to recede enough to make the fire pit usable once again. Thank goodness we had a tent pad, or there wouldn't have been a safe enough place to pitch our tents! (Friends camping in the inner part of the loop had some major flooding issues as well.)
Without the rain, it would have been a 5-star camping adventure.

Campground was very well kept and all sites offered a comfortable amount of space between each other. The host was very kind and helpful with questions, and checked in with us after we got settled. The surrounding area is great for hiking or nature walks; Beautiful views of twin lakes and close enough to the town just in case. There is also phone service which for us was a big plus. Overall great stay. Will be back.

This is such a great campground, and the spots themselves are so spread out from one another, so there is a lot of quiet and enjoyable scenery from each spot. The campground host Rick was just the best. Rick had the best information, and was very helpful. I would definitely use this campsite again.
