One of the best campgrounds we've ever stayed in with jaw-dropping views! The bathrooms were immaculate and the water pumps were prevalent. I would absolutely stay here again. We booked six months out.

After many years of hearing friends talk about camping at Trappers Lake we finally got to join them. While we enjoyed being with them the area was so beautiful. The campgrounds are very neat, clean and well maintained. The camp hosts Matt and Jess were very friendly and helpful recommending trails to hike, explaining rules and policies governing campgrounds and just being overall nice people. I cant wait to go back.

Shepherds Rim is a very nice campground. The bathroom was very clean and the campground was neat and very well taken care of. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay except for the vicious mosquitoes who were very plentiful.

Amazing.
Campsite; We tent camped. The toilets were clean. The campsite was maintained: trees trimmed and an area aas cleared for a tent. Campers were welcoming and quiet thru the night. Campsite hosts introduced themselves, offered info on parking additional vehicles and were great neighbors.
Location; Trappers lake was better than expected. Views extraordinary. Fish plentiful. Beaver activity beyond anything we read about or had seen. Post forest fire (2002) hiking views are unique, they provide great visibility of the surrounding flattops. Deer walking through camp was unexpected but welcome.
This alpine lake was and is still deserving of wilderness designation.

Note: No bear boxes were available at the campsites, hopefully this was due to our visit being the first week of the season and they will soon be available for use.
