This site is about a 6-hr drive from Denver, with the last 1h 20m without stores or gas, so make sure you stop in Meeker.
The campground is clean, well-maintained and very close to trails. The camp host was welcoming and the facilities were clean.
We saw various wildlife and our stay was bug-free. As you get further into June and July, mosquitos are abundant.
We had a great trip.

We did not get the opportunity to stay at this campground as the listing was misleading. We had driven from the Wy to Gypsum Co as that is the town nearest the listing of this campground when in reality it is 3 hr 6 min north, AGAIN, and 142 miles away from Gypsum. SHEPHERDS RIM CAMPGROUND is closest to Buford at 25.2 miles away, Meeker is 49.4 miles, Rife 90.5, New Castle 105, Glenwood Springs 117 miles away. Had we known the truth of where this camp spot was we would not have selected it.

Really nice camp hosts and less busy campground. It was unfortunate that there were families across multiple camp sites that were very loud. The lake was wonderful. Glad there was water and a bear box available.

Very nice campground at a very high elevation. Site #03 does not have a driveway just street parking. It's not great for a sleep-in rig. It is small (9x9 tent fit on pad) plus table and fire ring. Nice views and morning sun at this site. Good water and clean toilets - thanks hosts!

I have stayed in this campground several times, and always take site 9 when available, it's the best for a tent. The campground host was very nice, came around on the day I was leaving to let me know I didn't have to rush, as it rained overnight and my tent was wet, she said "take your time" which was nice. The bathrooms were very clean every day. I saw her working hard to cut grass around signs to keep them accessible. The bugs are always bad here so be prepared, other than that it's one of my favorite places!

The campgrounds are very nice and well kept up especially the bathrooms. The hosts are very friendly and helpful too. Love that there is a dump station there too.
