#9 beautiful campsite on the raging creek. However, not having water available at a campground is ridiculous. Fortunately we had a 15 gal, container, but had to drive 22 mi to fill it. Never again.

Camp hosts Arva and Doug are great! We met them in 2020 during our first trip to Gore creek and were happy to see them again this year! Great camping, close to town, trails all over to choose from! Recommend !!

Beautiful campground near Vail. You can hear the highway unless you are in one of the sites right next to the creek.

Absolutely beautiful, no highway noise. we also were checked in by a human. Biking and hiking right from the campground. Real gem. Only negative thing was no dump available. It was one of the nicest campground that we stayed in while touring Colorado.

This campground is beautiful. Gore Creek running just behind our campsite. Doug, the camp host, was very friendly and kept us aware of the wildlife. We'll definitely be back.

It was an amazing campsite up in Vail along I-70. The camp-hosts were great and did a great job keeping everything extremely clean and tidy for all the campers.

Gore Creek Campground is a true gem of the National Forest Service. If you are looking for a great boondocking location that is close to great trails and breathtaking views, this just might be the place for you. The entrance to the campground is ~2 mi off of I-70 Exit 180 on Bighorn Road. Only 10 minutes from Vail Village and 25 minutes from Frisco.
We stayed in Site #8, which provided plenty of room for our 22’ travel trailer and pickup. The sites each have a large picnic table and fire ring.
Pit toilets are spread through the campground and were very clean and well maintained. The campground hosts do a great job of keeping everything tidy and looking great. They also have bundles of firewood for sale for $7 at their site just inside the entrance to the campground.
I can’t say enough about this place. It’s probably my favorite spot to camp in Colorado. I almost didn’t post this review for fear of the secret getting out.

Travel east on I-70 to Exit 180 for East Vail. Turn right and follow the south frontage road (Bighorn Road) east to the road closure gate at about 2 mi. The campground is on the left just before the gate.
