Stayed in site 12. Beautiful site overlooking the landscape. The area to have your tent is on a small slope but not terrible.

This is a super-quiet, remote campground...don't push it on RV lengths, as we barely got our 17-footer in place! You'll love the view, especially when a thunderstorm is rolling in. You can see for miles across the valley, and you're just a short walk from the Zapata Falls trailhead and a short drive from Great Sand Dunes.

Great sites, great views and clean pit restrooms.
We stayed there with 2 RV’s, 28ft and 25ft long, and overall 8 people.
Only proposal for improvement: Lights in the restroom would be nice during the night.

This campground is a hidden gem. At 9,100' elevation even in late July the daytime temps were mild. Had excellent Starlink Internet reception. Camped at site 21 in a class C 27' RV. Had no trouble navigating the rode up to the campground and the gravel roads within the campground.
It's an easy hike to Zapata Falls from the campground, but go early in the day as it gets crowded.
Vault toilets were very clean.
Only about 7 miles from Great Sand Dunes National Park.
