Columbine Campground

Nice campground with large sites! The host was great!

Columbine was an amazing camground. Its back in the woods enough that you don't get any road noise, and the camground was well taken care of. Its a bit of a 4x4 hotspot so you'll get some noise from that but we enjoyed our stay.

The location itself is excellent! The sites and bathrooms are well maintained, and the camp host is always super helpful. Lots of sites with plenty of shade and space in between. The only reason I didn't rate higher is due to other campers, not the location itself.

There was confusion for one person in our group. They didn't have her site reserved for he. She had the first confirmation from when she first booked but didn't have access to the second confirmation. She was told the first confirmation didn't count and wasn't what they needed she needed to have the second one. Luckily the site wasn't taken and the host let her stay with just that first confirmation.
Everyone that I had contact with were very friendly and helpful!

I loved this campground. The road up to Central City was steep and had great views. Central City was beautiful but I couldn’t find parking for my RV so I just drove through and admired the town. Now the road to the CG was really rough at first. Just a very small sign pointing the way. My gps said take the left road but follow the small sign. I never exceeded 5 mph but things were bouncing around everywhere. There is not another sign (only 1.5 mi to the CG) when I was on a hill I could see up the road a gate and sign that said road closed. There was no way I could turn my rig around so I kept going. At the top of the road there was a sharp right turn you could not see until you got there, and whew, that was the CG.
It was worth the drive in! The camp host, Fernando was wonderful!! He helped and directed every camper with questions, he kept the place spotless, I’ve never seen cleaner restrooms or camp sites! His dig Zodiac was equally friendly!! Never barked at anyone was beautiful and sweet. I stayed 4 nights and was not ready to leave. A great experience!

Camp host kept the bathrooms impeccable. He even set up a hand washing station. The campground is very close to the metro area so that's convenient. It's also close to a ton of OHV trails. That's really who this campground is for. It's packed with ATVs and Razors and you can hear their roar on the trails at all hours (apparently riding in the dark at midnight is a thing). The campground is treed but you can see and hear all your neighbors. Lots of RVs and campers. It's like a suburb neighborhood in trees. We couldn't find any nearby trails without fast ATVs so hiking was a limited. Tent campers, we like a quieter nature experience. So this campground is a 1 for me, but I rated it a 3 because if you're social ATV people, you will probably think it's a 5.

Host was the best. Camped here for over 10 yrs, and this was the best conditions I have seen. Clean, well maintained, peaceful. A beautiful campground
