What Guests Are Saying
Columbine Campground offers beautiful scenery, clean facilities, and a friendly camp host, making it a pleasant camping experience. Many visitors enjoyed the hiking opportunities and proximity to local attractions, with some even spotting wildlife like moose. However, noise from nearby off-road vehicles and loud campers can be disruptive, particularly on weekends.

Campground was ok. Sites are small even though they claim to fit big rigs. Roads are very narrow leaving no room to maneuver. Water wasn’t available as stated. We ended up having to switch sites because the one we reserved was way too small and it took 2 months to receive a refund. Unacceptable.

We went not on a weekend, so there were only a few people there. The host was a great person to talk to and he did a wonderful job of keeping the bathrooms VERY clean.

Nice campground for tents and small RVs. Tough for larger rigs. Our site (18) was supposed to be for a 40 ft trailer with 2 vehicles. Not even remotely - we have a 27 ft and could barely get in the site with our truck parked sideways almost in the road. We had a hard time getting in and out of the site. We weren't the only ones. Most of the sites have level areas for a tent, but took quite a bit of leveling for our travel trailer.
But - the campsite was awesome. Our site backed up to woods with a lot of trees. Almost all the sites had a lot of shade, a fire pit and a small bbq suitable for small amount of charcoal.

Decent sites, most of them aren’t too close together (for a FS campground). The bathrooms were clean/ had TP, the host was friendly and helpful. The downside to this CG is that it is close to a lot of ATV/motorbike trails, which seems like a fun time, however lots of loud vehicles and clueless parents that let their kids tear thru the CG doing lap after lap on their motorized vehicles. Makes things dusty, loud and not the safest for dogs and small kids. I was there on a holiday weekend, to make things worse, and also encountered loud groups blasting music and having way more than 8 ppl per site. I would try this spot again for a non-holiday stay, enjoyed the proximity to good mtn biking and Blackhawk/Central City.

This was a great campground! The site we had was more secluded and plenty of shade to relax in!

Great campground close to Denver. We loved seeing the wildflowers at the Central City Cemeteries.

Park manager was super nice, very clean restrooms. Amazing tasting water (very glad we could get fresh water to drink). We had deer walk right behind our site and a friendly Raven and a cool looking Stellers Jay (bird) keeping us company!
