What Guests Are Saying
Green Ridge campground offers stunning views and a tranquil atmosphere, with clean facilities, helpful camp hosts, and great access to Shadow Mountain Lake and nearby trails. While some sites are close together, leading to a lack of privacy, and issues with tree trimming and parking have been noted, the overall experience remains positive. Campers appreciate the well-maintained bathrooms, though some flush toilets were out of service during certain stays, and many guests express a desire to return for the beautiful surroundings and recreational opportunities.

Had a great time - a lot of people scared away by the snow and Trail Rgdge road being closed so it was pretty quite. The Loop host was great - gave me a ride back to our site after I bought some firewood from him and filled a 7 gallon water container to put out our fire. Hike from Shadow Mtn reservoir to Grand Lake was very nice as was the hike to Granby Res. Far eastern loop where we stayed had great views of Rocky Mtn National Park and an Osprey nest.

The facility had no water and I was not notified of this fact until AFTER my camping reservation. Otherwise it was a fine campground, pretty average.

This is a lovely campground next to Shadow Mountain Lake and Rocky Mountain NPK. It is well kept up. The camp hosts were very helpful and busy keeping the place in good order. We had to change spots as the original one we booked did not work with our trailer layout. The camp host helped us relocate. We found a spot near to it available that we had to unhook our truck to fit into but it was wide enough for us to park the truck across the front. It had a nice tent spot, picnic table and fire ring. There were also trees for us to hang our hammock in. I think that most of the spots in this campground are very nice but there are more trees/shade in the Loop “A”. We did not find road noise a problem, even though we were close to it. There was not much traffic. The lake was freezing cold but very beautiful to hike and bike around. There are trail heads right next to the campground leading into Rock Mountain NPK. We were also close to Grand Lake and the town there is very quaint with great restaurants and shops. The west entrance to Rocky National Park is just past Grand Lake. There was a very big fire here in the fall of 2020 and it is not very pretty for the first part into the park. After about 20 minutes, the green returned and the beauty of the forest etc was wonderful. I tried really hard to get a place on the East side but due to Covid many campgrounds were not even open. I am so glad we were forced over here. We loved it and hope to return.
