What Guests Are Saying
Green Ridge campground offers stunning views and a tranquil atmosphere, with clean facilities, helpful camp hosts, and great access to Shadow Mountain Lake and nearby trails. While some sites are close together, leading to a lack of privacy, and issues with tree trimming and parking have been noted, the overall experience remains positive. Campers appreciate the well-maintained bathrooms, though some flush toilets were out of service during certain stays, and many guests express a desire to return for the beautiful surroundings and recreational opportunities.

I've been to this campground many times over the years. Although pine beetles have taken a toll on trees, the area is making a nice recovery. The accommodations have been limited to vault toilets. The dump station is closed as is the fish cleaning station. There is water available. A friend of mine showed up with his boat. The boat ramp is available and not busy. Inspections for invasive species are mandatory before boat is allowed to launch. The guy doing the inspection was not affiliated with recreation.gov. Otherwise, this review would be dedicated to relating his shortcomings in the performance of his duties. He was not well-suited for the job, nor any job, requiring human interaction. I suspect he was assigned this position because his personality bears remarkable similarity to that of a boat trailer. The campground host, on the other hand, is affiliated with recreation.com; was very outgoing, friendly, and helpful; kept the entire campground in good shape; and was frequently seen taking care of business and making sure everything and everyone were doing well! Speaking of "bears", the trash is secured properly and removed often in order to discourage bears from visiting the campground. Vaults are also provided at each campsite for the storage of food. These measures appear to work. No bears were encountered in this campground which sits adjacent to pristine wilderness. The chipmunks, however, run amok and will resort to gang-style tactics like "rolling-up" on our Great Dane/Pitbull Mix and stealing food from his bowl! Fortunately for the chipmunks, he viewed their presence as entirely non-threatening and apparently didn't mind sharing with the cute, tiny rodents. This liberty has never been extended to our cats when we're at home! The fishing in the lake sucked. Fishing in the spillway is always tough but not for lack of fish. As sunset approaches, fish of all sizes break the surface, literally, by the thousands. They're in there!

Wonderful campsite, very clean and friendly. Great for kayaking, paddleboarding, etc. Close to Grand Lake is just a short drive.

Loved how clean the site was and how close to nature (or actually amidst nature) we were. Water views and awesome wildlife spotted. Hiked to the osprey viewing area and enjoyed seeing the nests. Would have stayed longer and given more stars for access to hookups.

Beautiful campsite with just a few issues. The tent pad was too small for our 8 person tent and too many trucks driving around all throughout the night shining their lights into the tents and making noise so it was hard to sleep.

Great campsite, clean bathrooms, friendly people. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star, the parking/RV/trailer, not alot of room to maneuver. We blocked the one way road just to hitch/unhitch....other then that, great place to camp!!!

This campground has a great location near the lake, walking trails and the town of Grand Lake. There is not much shade at the campsites and no view of the lake.
Overall, a good experience.

I loved my tent site, great view of desert and mountains. Right next to Shadow Mountain Lake which is beautiful and great for paddle boarding.
